Coral walls, turtles, and reef sharks — dive Zanzibar's warm, clear water, from first bubbles to advanced sites.
Zanzibar offers warm 26–29°C water, good visibility, and a range of sites from gentle reef gardens to the drift dives and big fish of Leven Bank. The Mnemba Atoll off the northeast is the headline — turtles, dolphins, reef sharks, and clouds of fish — while Nungwi and Tumbatu in the north suit all levels.
Whether you’re trying diving for the first time, completing a certification, or logging advanced dives, we match you to a reputable dive centre and the sites that suit your level and the season.
Match sites to your level; check gear and buddy up.
A guided dive on coral gardens or a wall.
Rest, hydrate, and review on the boat.
A different reef or drift, conditions permitting.
Zanzibar diving is very good rather than world-class — for the biggest fish and best walls, Pemba and Mafia outshine the main island. But Mnemba is excellent and access is easy. Visibility and conditions are best October to March; book courses with a centre that prioritises safety over speed.
