Olduvai Camp

Olduvai Camp is a tented safari camp in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, positioned between the Ngorongoro Crater and the vast plains leading toward Serengeti National Park. Built around a natural granite kopje and located only a few kilometres from the historically important Olduvai Gorge, the camp combines wildlife, landscapes, archaeology and Maasai cultural experiences in one distinctive setting.

The camp has 17 safari tents positioned on stone terraces overlooking the surrounding savannah. Its location makes it particularly suitable for travellers moving between Ngorongoro and Serengeti who want more than a simple overnight stop.

Getting There

Olduvai Camp is located inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, close to Olduvai Gorge and between Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. This makes it particularly convenient for safari itineraries travelling between these two major wildlife destinations. The camp's published fact sheet places it approximately 260 kilometres from Arusha, with an estimated driving time of four to five hours.
