Tarangire provides the first day’s broad savannah, baobab woodland and strong elephant viewing. After a night near Karatu, the second day is devoted to the Ngorongoro Crater, where varied habitats support dense resident wildlife.
The route works particularly well before or after a Kilimanjaro climb, a Zanzibar stay or a business visit in Arusha. An early departure is important, especially from Moshi. Your vehicle, guide and daily pace remain private throughout.
2-Day Tarangire & Ngorongoro Safari takes you through Tanzania's most celebrated national parks. Each day is a different landscape, a different wildlife encounter.

Day 1: Arusha or Moshi to Tarangire National Park
Meet your driver-guide early and travel to Tarangire National Park, a landscape defined by mature baobab trees, large elephant herds, and seasonal wildlife concentrations along the Tarangire River during the drier months. Enjoy a private game drive with a picnic lunch served inside the park, allowing flexible time in key viewing areas. In the late afternoon, continue to the Karatu area for dinner and an overnight stay, with your guide confirming the following morning’s crater departure time.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater and return
After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day private game drive across its rich and varied habitats. Wildlife viewing may include lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, hyena, and, with favorable conditions, the endangered black rhino. Your guide will adjust the route based on current wildlife movements and road conditions to ensure the most productive experience. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site on the crater floor before ascending the rim in the afternoon and continuing your return journey to Arusha or Moshi in the evening.

Can this safari start in Moshi?
Yes. A Moshi start is practical, but the first and final transfers are longer than from Arusha. An early departure is recommended.
-
Is the safari private?
Yes. The vehicle and driver-guide are reserved for your party. Joining departures are offered under a separate package.
-
Which park comes first?
The standard sequence is Tarangire followed by Ngorongoro. Your consultant may recommend Lake Manyara instead of Tarangire when logistics or current conditions make it a better fit.
-
Can we fly to Zanzibar after the safari?
Yes. Depending on the flight time, an Arusha hotel night may be needed after returning from Ngorongoro. We can arrange the flight and transfer.
